Elon Musk on Tesla, Cryptocurrency and the SpaceX Program

Interview conducted via SpaceX and Signal App IM

I had the pleasure "picking" Elon Musk's mind on a few topics and want to share his perspective. He has certainly caused me to look at Tesla, Cryptocurrency and the SpaceX Program with fresh eyes.

Tesla Changes

Says Elon Musk "The changes coming include an electric convertible version that needs more testing." The Tesla Roadster was the first convertible model back in 2008. According to the Car and Driver Report the 2023 second generation model will start at $200k with a limited Founder Series at $50k. The 200-kWh battery should provide 620 miles of range.

Cryptocurrency

Personally, I am Leery of Cryptocurrency. It could be my age (a young 60), or just plain old fear of losing money. Says Musk, "You know people are afraid of investing in cryptocurrency because of the fear of the unknown". Further, " I've seen in one way than one how it has transformed the lives of many individuals. I too I'm a first-hand beneficiary of cryptocurrency. Back in 2020 during the pandemic, a guy texted me to start receiving payments with cryptocurrency That also helped me boost my assets".

SpaceX Program

In 2005, SpaceX announced plans to pursue a human-rated commercial space program through the end of the decade, a program that would later become the Dragon spacecraft. In 2006, the company was selected by NASA to provide crew and cargo resupply demonstration contracts to the ISS under the COTS program. In January this year it was reported that "Commercial space company SpaceX plans to launch a whopping 52 flights in 2022, a NASA safety panel revealed during a meeting. If successful, it would be the most launches the company has ever conducted in a single year, with its previous record last year at 31 launches" according to www.theverge.com. Signal App

My first-time using Signal App was chatting with Elon Musk. It's easy to download and effortless to chat. According to www.republicworld.com, Tesla CEO Elon Musk asked followers to ‘Use Signal’ after WhatsApp users agreed to let Facebook and its subsidiaries collect their personal information. The non-profit Signal Foundation launched this app in February 2018 with initial funding of $50 million from Brian Acton. Acton an American Internet Entrepreneur, who was formerly employed at Yahoo and is the co-founder of (with Jan Koum) WhatsApp.

In conclusion, I appreciate Elon answering all my questions and enlightening me on these topics. In the future, I can't wait to test drive the Tesla Roadster Convertible and will report my findings.
