Navigating the Ubiquity of Artificial Intelligence
By Ronald Smith
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has reached a stage where avoiding its influence is nearly impossible. Whether you're reading content or conducting research, AI is present—guiding you through helpful summaries of your search results, much like a Wikipedia entry. These summaries can be incredibly useful for launching your research, offering a foundation on which to build your work.
When you start writing a new document or email, you might notice that AI attempts to be helpful by completing sentences or suggesting edits. This can be perceived as either useful or annoying, largely depending on your attitude towards AI. If you are open to exploring its capabilities, it can provide ease and insights. But it can also be seen as overstepping personal familiarity. Either way, AI’s presence is difficult to ignore, as it is not going away anytime soon.
If your computer’s operating system allows, you may opt to remove the AI startup from your timeline. You may also consider using professional versions of software, which often strip down the AI features. Mobile and student versions simply do not include the power tools to disable AI, which makes this harder to avoid.
