Black Icons Present the very first Museum Presentation Dedicated to Maricopa Black Residents

April 11, 2023, Maricopa AZ - Maricopa’s Black Community Leaders have worked tirelessly as a team with the Maricopa Historical Society to create a Black Icon Museum Presentation for display on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 10am - 12pm.

The team consisting of Jim Irving, Paul Shirk, Linda Austin, Kent & Chrystal O’Jon, Gayle Randolph, JoAnna Vanderpool, Marvin & Helen Brown, and Councilmember Henry Wade all have powerful stories in their own right. Collectively they saw a need for the story of Black Maricpoans to be shared with the community. In this way, everyone is included in the diverse community richness that makes up Maricopa.

The Maricopa Historical Society will hold a public presentation using a Walmart screen donation, featuring the history of Black Maricopa residents. This event is free to the public and will be held at 44240 Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy in Maricopa.

Jackson) www.mtmame.org. Live music will be performed by Pastor Jerry Williford.
