Youth Volunteers Save The Day
Thanks to these young volunteers, headed by Bryan Ghee the FREE visual presentation of Maricopa Black Icons in Celebration of Black History Month Saturday, 15 April 2023 | 10AM - 12.00 PM went on "without a hitch". These young men set up chairs, ushered guests and even cleaned up at the end of the event.
Bryan Ghee, leader of this amazing troupe now for 2 years (8 as a leader in other troupes), says, "I'm inspired to see young people take on challenges and even learn from failures. It's all part of the journey". Hunter McClain and Noah Ghee were both encouraged by their fathers to join as scouts.
Troop 993 was founded in 2007. "We strive to create adventure while teaching lifelong skills that will bring good citizenship and ethical characteristics to young men and women". https://www.facebook.com/troop993/ .
Their meetings are held every Monday at Butterfield Elementary School from 7pm-8:30pm during the school year. (Holiday weeks they meet on that Wednesday instead of Monday).
