Receives Walmart Donation for Museum Presentations

April 1, 2023, Maricopa AZ - The Maricopa Historical Society, located at 44240 Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy in Maricopa, received a donation from Walmart to help with all their visual presentations. Says Walmart Manager, Sue Hamilton “myself and management were simply happy to help.“

Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 10am - 12pm, The Maricopa Historical Society will hold a public presentation using the Walmart donation, featuring the history of Black Maricopa residents. This event is free to the public.

Paul Shirk and Jim Irving, are excited about the overwhelming interest in the upcoming program.

Look for and meet three local Maricopa churches and their leaders: Be Community Church (Pastors David & Leisa Anderson) becommunitychurch.com, Walk By Faith Empowerment Center (Bishops Ben & Norma Washington) www.normawashington.org, and Mount Moriah Ame Community Church (Pastor Arnold L. Jackson) www.mtmame.org. Listen to live music performed by Pastor Jerry Williford.

Community leaders involved in this project include Jim Irving, Paul Shirk, Kent & Chrystal O’Jon, Gayle Randolph, JoAnna Vanderpool, Marvin & Helen Brown, and Councilmember Henry Wade.
